In Brooks’ article, he discusses the security flaws (physical theft and wireless data theft) of wireless communication devices, and he outlines software and practices to better secure your devices and information.
-->
“The more portable a device, the easier it is to lose—whether by accident or malicious intent,” writes Jason Brooks in the current issue of eWeek.
“We prize mobile computing devices for the flexibility and convenience they provide, but mobility presents significant challenges for IT administrators charged with keeping their companies’ data and networks secure—particularly as mobile devices and networks have grown more sophisticated and ubiquitous.”
As computing and technology advances and integrates itself further into our daily personal and business lives, security concerns will remain on the forefront of such developments in technology.
In the field, I have personally experienced clients whom have had their data compromised due to poor security implementations, and in particular, securing their wireless networks.

Although resources are plentiful for start-ups and small businesses by a simple search on Google, reliable sources for FREE information are sometimes more difficult to source.
A couple of resources that I have found very usefully to myself and some of my clients include SmallBusinessBC.ca, MoreBusiness.com, and Entrepreneur.com.
These resources contain a wealth of information in the form of sample business plans/strategies, financial support options, market research, and other such tools to help your business start or further grow.

Unless you do business on Gilligan’s Island, it’s difficult to overstate the importance of reliable, up-to-date contact information. writes Christopher Elliott on how to “Handle your business contacts like a pro.”
In an earlier entry in May, I had introduced contact management and a couple references for implementation and benefits of it.
Well, as per requested by many of you, I have followed up on that topic with thisarticle which suggest 6 valuable strategies in managing your contacts. In addition, this article provides tips accompanying the strategies in implementing these strategies in Microsoft Outlook 2003.

As a widely utilized resource in business communications today, web conferencing and web based seminars are gaining more and more acceptance as a valuable communication tool.
I had come across an interesting article found on ecommercetimes.com. One of the reasons that I found this article so interesting is because as an installer of PBX and VoIP phone systems, I have been wiring up most of my clients for VoIP support, indicating that these businesses are aware of VoIP technology (and other such web communication methods) and the possible future reliance on this technology to conduct communications rather than spend funds in air fares and overhead to travel for a conference/seminar.
This article, written by Jennifer LeClaire of the E-commerce Times, can be found here.
In an interview with Netspoke President & CEO Scott D’Entremont, LeClaire discusses the; state of webconferencing today, encouraging indications of the technology being accepted in North America, the driving force behind web communication technologies, any hinderence in the momentum swing in the rise for online communications, myths, and what the future holds for web communications.
